From milepost 56 to milepost 61
Report Detail: I-90 Hyak to Keechelus Dam Project (mileposts 56 to 61)
Contact: Scott Golbek, WSDOT Project Engineer (509) 577-1840
Construction Begins: September 2011
Scheduled Completion: Fall 2019
Bicycle Alternate Route: I-90 is closed to bicycles in both directions between the Hyak interchange (Exit 54) and Stampede Pass interchange (exit 62) because there is no shoulder for bicycles to use. Bicyclists can use the John Wayne Pioneer Trail, weather permitting, as an alternate route.
Crews are building a wider and more reliable five-mile stretch of I-90 from Hyak to Keechelus Dam by adding lanes, replacing and adding bridges, stabilizing rock slopes and replacing the snowshed with avalanche bridges.
Due to the nature of blasting operations this season, closures may last longer than an hour. This Web page will be updated with extended closure information to help drivers plan their trips across Snoqualmie Pass.
