Blocking Incidents
  • A WSDOT Maintenance crew will be performing Tunnel maintenance and lighting repairs in the Knapps Hill Tunnel on Tuesday ONLY 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Expect a full closure of the tunnel and a 15 mile detour on SR 971 between Navarre Coulee Road and Pat & Mike's on South Lakeshore Drive. No busses will be allowed.
  • Update 9:33 AM : On US 2 westbound just east of I-5 (MP 0) there is a collision blocking the left lane. Medical Aid, Fire Assistance, and the Incident Response Team have arrived on the scene.
  • The Iron Goat Rest Area on US 2 at milepost 58, six miles west of the summit of Stevens Pass, is closed for the winter.
  • SR 20 over Washington and Rainy passes in the North Cascades remains closed from milepost 134 near Diablo on the west side of the pass to milepost 171 on the east side, eight miles west of Mazama.
    Spring reopening work began from the west side March 26 and on the east side April 9. During the clearing recreationists are not allowed past the gates Monday through Thursday.
Construction Closures
  • On SR 20 from Winthrop east to Beaver Creek Road Monday-Thursday 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., expect short delays with flaggers and a pilot car where the Twisp WSDOT maintenance crew is crack sealing 12 miles of deficient travel lanes.
  • Monday, April 16 until mid-May - Crews will reduce lanes at SR 542 and the eastern leg of SR 9 at 7 a.m. and will alternate travelers through this area around-the-clock during roundabout construction. Travelers should leave extra time if travel plans take them through this area east of Deming.

  • Monday, April 23 at 7 a.m. until mid-May - Flaggers will alternate travelers through the intersection of SR 542 and the eastern leg of SR 9 around-the-clock during roundabout construction. Travelers should leave extra time if travel plans take them through this area east of Deming.
  • Monday, April 23 through Thursday, April 26 - Puget Sound Energy crews will close one lane of SR 9 at Francis/Old Day Creek roads daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility relocation work. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the open lane.
  • Monday, April 23 at 7 a.m. until mid-May - Flaggers will alternate travelers through the intersection of SR 542 and the eastern leg of SR 9 around-the-clock during roundabout construction. Travelers should leave extra time if travel plans take them through this area east of Deming.
  • On the I-5 northbound collector-distributor on-ramp from I-90 (MP 166) the ramp is partially blocked due to roadwork.
  • Eastbound & westbound traffic is alternating on SR 542 at SR 9 (MP 10) due to roadwork.
  • Eastbound & westbound traffic is alternating on SR 530 at Arnot Rd (MP 25) to 139th Ave (MP 26) due to roadwork.
  • On SR 528 eastbound & westbound at 47th Ave (MP 1) the right lane is closed due to roadwork.
  • Northbound & southbound traffic is alternating on SR 9 at Lake Cavanaugh Rd (MP 44) to W Big Lake Blvd (MP 48) due to roadwork.
  • Eastbound & westbound traffic is alternating on SR 96 at E Lowell-Larimer Rd (MP 5) to 77th Ave (MP 6) due to roadwork.
  • On SR 96 eastbound at Dumas Rd (MP 1) the right lane is closed due to roadwork.
  • On SR 96 westbound at 16th Ave (MP 1) the right lane is closed due to roadwork.
  • On SR 522 westbound at SR 104 (MP 6) the right lane is closed due to roadwork.
Special Events
  • Flammable cargo is prohibited on I-90 eastbound & westbound from Rainier Ave (MP 3) to 76th Ave SE (MP 7).
