US 2 to close in Skykomish at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 20
Crews will be alternating traffic past the crash scene on US 2 in Skykomish through the evening commute. At 8 p.m. tonight, Thursday, July 20, US 2 will fully close both directions at milepost 46 to remove an over-sized construction vehicle that slid down a shallow slope late Thursday morning. Once workers remove the large pavement-grinding machine, they will reopen the highway in both directions. An estimated reopening time is unclear due to the complexity of the removal work. Travelers should expect long delays tonight between Skykomish and Gold Bar or use I-90 or SR 20 as alternate routes.
