Construction Closures
  • Tuesday, July 29 to the morning of Thursday, August 21 - The SR 522 ramp to eastbound US 2 will be closed around-the-clock from 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 29 to 12:01 a.m. Thursday, August 21 for bridge repaving. Drivers will follow a short detour to access US 2.
  • Monday, July 28 to Friday, August 1 - A single lane of SR 203 from Monroe to Carnation will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily for a variety of roadwork. Traffic will be flagged through the work zone.
  • Monday, July 28 to the morning of Friday, August 1 - A single lane of 164th Street at the SR 522 interchange will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for utility and drainage work.
  • Monday, July 28 to the morning of Friday, August 1 - A single lane of SR 522 from Fales/Echo Lake Road to US 2 will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for paving work.
  • Monday, July 28 to the morning of Thursday, July 31 - All lanes of westbound SR 520 between 92nd Avenue Northeast and Montlake Boulevard will close nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for concrete pouring work.
  • Monday, July 28 to the morning of Thursday, July 31 - The 84th Avenue Northeast on-ramp to westbound SR 520 will close nightly from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for concrete pouring work.
  • All southbound I-5 traffic is reduced to two lanes and will use a new crossover across the median to two lanes of northbound I-5 across the Stillaguamish River Bridge, crossing back over on the other side of the bridge, until the project is complete in November. Northbound I-5 is reduced to two lanes from SR 530 to 236th Street Northeast as well. Drivers should prepare for a 55 mile per hour speed limit in both directions in the work zone.
  • Tuesday, July 8 to November - Both directions of I-5 near the Stillaguamish River Bridge have been reduced to two lanes until bridge work is complete in November. Drivers should be prepared for some delays throughout the day. The heaviest northbound congestion is expected Thursdays and Fridays 3-6 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The heaviest southbound congestion is expected Sundays 4 to 6 p.m. Drivers should plan for up to 35 minutes of extra travel time during these hours.
  • Monday, July 28 to the morning of Friday, Aug. 1 - The two right lanes of westbound I-90 at the East Channel Bridge will close nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. so crews can replace two expansion joints under the bicycle/pedestrian path.
  • Monday, July 28 to the morning of Friday, August 1 – The Northeast Eighth Street on-ramp to northbound I-405 will close from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for paving work.
  • Monday, July 28 to the morning of Friday, August 1 – The northbound I-405 ramp to westbound SR 520 will close from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. nightly for bridge work.
  • Monday, July 28 to the morning of Friday, August 1 – The eastbound and westbound SR 520 ramps to northbound I-405 will close from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. nightly for electrical work.
  • Monday, July 28 to the morning of Friday, August 1 – The Northeast 160th Street on-ramp to southbound I-405 will close from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for electrical work.

  • Wednesday, July 30 to the morning of Friday, August 1 – Up to two lanes of northbound I-405 between SR 527 and I-5 in Lynnwood will close from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for lane striping work (Weather and temperature dependent).
  • Wednesday, July 30 to the morning of Friday, August 1 – Up to three lanes of southbound I-405 between SR 527 and I-5 in Lynnwood will close starting at 7 p.m. nightly for lane striping work. All lanes will be open by 5 a.m. (Weather and temperature dependent).
  • Monday, July 28 to the morning of Friday, August 1 – Up to three lanes of southbound I-405 between Northeast 85th Street and Northeast 70th Street will close starting at 7 p.m. nightly for pavement grinding and lane restriping work. Two lanes will close at 8 p.m., and three lanes will close at 10:30 p.m. One lane will open by 4:30 a.m. and all lanes by 5 a.m. each day.
  • Wednesday, July 30 to the morning of Friday, Aug. 1 - The northbound I-405 on-ramp to westbound SR 520 will close nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for survey work.
  • Wednesday, July 30 to the morning of Friday, Aug. 1 - A single lane of eastbound SR 520 at I-405 will close nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for survey work.
  • Monday, July 28 to the morning of Friday, Aug. 1 - The right lane of westbound SR 520 between the east highrise and Montlake Boulevard will close nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for concrete pouring work.
  • Wednesday, July 30 to the morning of Friday, August 1 - Up to three lanes in either direction of SR 527 from I-405 to SR 524 will be closed daily from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. for grinding and paving work. Up to two lanes in either direction of 214th/217th/220th St. SE will also be closed. Lanes will start closing at 9 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 31 to the morning of Friday, August 1 – The northbound I-405 off-ramp to Northeast 85th Street will close from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. for guardrail installation work.
  • Monday, July 28 to the morning of Friday, Aug. 1 – One lane of the northbound and southbound I-5 Nooksack River bridges will be closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. for preparation and bridge painting. Drivers should be prepared for slightly narrower lanes. The speed limit through the work zone is reduced from 70 to 60 mph.
  • Wednesday, July 30 to Friday, Aug. 1 – Drivers should expect one-lane closures on SR 9 between Doran Road and SR 542 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for paving work. Flaggers and pilot cars will guide traffic through the work zone. Drivers should expect a variable speed limit through the work zone. This work is weather-dependent.
  • Monday, July 28 to Friday, Aug. 1 – One lane of northbound SR 9 may be closed daily near Front Street from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for construction. Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone.
  • Monday, July 28 to Friday, Aug. 1 – Drivers should expect lane and shoulder closures on SR 539 between Horton Road and SR 546/East Badger Road from 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. for construction. Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone.
  • Monday, July 28 to Friday, Aug. 1 – One lane of SR 539 will be closed near the border daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for clearing and drainage work. Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone.
  • Monday, July 28 to Saturday, August 2 - Traffic will be flagged through in both directions of SR 530 in Oso from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily to allow trucks to load and unload material. Wait times have typically been about 5 minutes.
Special Events
  • The Blue Angels practices and the Seafair Air Shows will close the I-90 mainline, I-90 Express Lanes and associated ramps and roadways. The entire length of the I-90 Express Lanes will close from I-5 Interchange to I-405, and both directions of mainline I-90 will close from I-5 Interchange to Island Crest Way on Thursday, July 31, 2014, from 9:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. to 2:40 p.m. On Friday, August 1, 2014 through Sunday, August 3, 2014 they will close from 12:15 p.m. until 2:40 p.m
