Construction Closures
  • Thursday, April 23 to the morning of Monday, April 27 - The southbound SR 509 off-ramp to South 160th Street will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday and Sunday nights for grinding and paving work.
  • Wednesday, March 4 to late April - The eastbound I-90 HOV off-ramp to I-405 is closed around the clock for eight weeks for construction.
  • Thursday, April 23 to the morning of Monday, April 27 - The right lane of southbound SR 509 from 5th Avenue South/Glendale Way South to South 160th Street will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Thursday and Sunday nights for grinding and paving work.
  • Monday, April 20 to the morning of Sunday, April 26 - The right lane of westbound SR 520 from the west highrise to Montlake Boulevard East/SR 513 will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday nights for bridge work.
  • Saturday, April 25 - Up to three lanes of southbound I-5 near Everett Mall Way will be closed from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for bridge inspection and maintenance.
  • Effective through Winter 2016: Canada Border Services Agency has made changes to its Aldergrove border crossing that could result in back-ups on SR 539. Processing has been reduced from three lanes to two. Drivers should consider using the Sumas, Pacific Highway or Peace Arch border crossings to avoid delays.
  • Eastbound & westbound traffic is alternating on SR 542/Mount Baker Hwy near Glacier Springs (MP 30) as part of an emergency project to realign the roadway due to the Nooksack River eroding land near the eastbound lane. Work will be complete in April 2015.
Special Events
  • Uniformed Police Officers will intermittently stop both directions of SR 410 vehicle traffic Sunday morning, April 26, 2015, at Mud Mountain Dam Rd. and 284th Ave SE for the annual Mt. Rainier Duathlon. These intermittent traffic stops will take place between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Sunday to allow the safe passage of cyclists onto and off Westbound SR 410.
  • Saturday, April 25 – A Seattle Mariners baseball game that begins at 6:10 p.m. at Safeco Field will cause additional congestion on highways leading into Seattle, including I-5, I-90, SR 520 and SR 99.
  • Drivers expect traffic congestion Saturday, April 25, 2015, in both directions of SR 539 at the SR 539/SR 544 Pole Rd roundabout in conjunction with the Khalsa Sikh Day Parade festivities taking place at the nearby Sikh Temple on SR 544/Pole Rd. WSP will intermittently stop both directions of SR 544 traffic at the temple access between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. but, may relocate the traffic stops to the roundabout to manage traffic congestion as needed.
  • WSP will intermittently stop both directions of SR 544/Pole Rd traffic Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the entrance to the Sikh Temple near SR 539, for the Khalsa Sikh Day Parade vehicle traffic. Traffic stops will occur between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. WSP may relocate from the Temple access to the SR 539 roundabout to manage traffic as needed.
  • Drivers may experience increased congestion in Skagit County, particularly around the exits to La Conner, from March 28-April 30 for the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival.
