Blocking Incidents

Severe side winds on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge on SR 16 both directions at Milepost 8. Beginning at 6:40 PM on June 17, 2013 until further notice.
Road work on SR 16 both directions at Milepost 1.41 near Union Ave beginning at 9:00 PM on June 17, 2013 until approximately 5:00 AM on June 18, 2013.

Construction Closures

The southbound I-5 exit to S. 38th Street in Tacoma (Exit #132A) is closed through July. Motorists are detoured via the S. 56th Street interchange at Exit #130, onto northbound I-5 and to the northbound I-5 exit to S. 38th Street. Expect delays, especially during a.m. and p.m. peak travel periods.
Eastbound Nalley Valley project-related work requires periodic lane and shoulder closures in both directions of SR 16, as well as on Sprague Avenue, South Tacoma Way and Center, and Union streets weekdays and weeknights.
Monday, June 17 to the morning of Tuesday, June 18 - Up to three lanes of southbound I-5 near South 317th Street will close from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. The first lane closes at 8 p.m., the second at 9 p.m. and three lanes will be closed by 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Tuesday.
