Blocking Incidents
  • Heavy traffic is causing backups and possible delays on I-5 northbound from milepost 132 near 38th St to milepost 134.5 near East L St beginning at 6:24 am on May 21, 2013 until further notice.
  • Heavy traffic is causing backups and possible delays on northbound SR 167, from milepost 7.5, near the SR 410 interchange, to milepost 11.0, the Pierce-King county line. Beginning at 5:48 am on May 21, 2013 until further notice.
Construction Closures
  • The southbound I-5 exit to S. 38th Street in Tacoma (Exit #132A) is closed through July. Motorists are detoured via the S. 56th Street interchange at Exit #130, onto northbound I-5 and to the northbound I-5 exit to S. 38th Street. Expect delays, especially during a.m. and p.m. peak travel periods.
  • Eastbound Nalley Valley project-related work requires periodic lane and shoulder closures in both directions of SR 16, as well as on Sprague Avenue, South Tacoma Way and Center, and Union streets weekdays and weeknights.
  • Monday, May 20 to the morning of Thursday, May 23 - Crews will close up to three lanes of northbound I-5 at South 308th Street to South 260th Street from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly for construction work. The first lane will close at 8 p.m., the second at 9 p.m. and the third at 10 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. each day.
