LOW IMPACT
US 2 Both Directions - Monday through Thursday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., expect lane shifts and shoulder closures in the 6 mile long four lane section from the summit down to the Railroad tunnel portal. Monday, pavement repair should be complete. Tuesday through Thursday, paving will be underway. Speed through the work zone is reduced to 45. When outside lanes and shoulders need to be closed, bicyclists and pedestrians are being bussed around the work zone.

In this $4 million project, Central Washington Asphalt crews will replace the four lanes from the summit east for 7 miles. The roadway will be milled out and repaved with hot mix asphalt. The parking area for Bygone Byways will be fog-sealed. Safety features will be upgraded including rumble strips, striping and signage.
