I-82 / US 97 – Yakima County Deck Rehabilitation (I-82 mileposts 41 to 42, US 97 mileposts 37 to 38) Contact: Jerry Wood, WSDOT Project Engineer (509) 577-1859 Construction Began: May 2017 Scheduled Completion: August 2017 Project Description: This project rehabilitates the bridge deck on two bridges in Yakima County. Bridge 82/135N is the westbound bridge that crosses the Yakima Valley Highway at milepost 42, located 5 miles east of Yakima on I-82. Bridge 97/102 crosses Satus Creek, located 24 miles south of Toppenish on US-97. The bridges will be rehabilitated by removing and replacing the top portion of the bridge decks with a modified concrete overly. Bridge expansion joints will also be replaced.
