  • Marvin Road (SR 510) overpass in Lacey will close to all travelers around-the-clock from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, until 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30. There will be no Marvin Road access to northbound I-5 during the closure. Northbound I-5 exit to Marvin Road (exit 111) will also close. Travelers will detour to Quinault Drive Northeast.
  • Travelers who use the Meridian Road overpass at I-5 in Lacey will want to plan extra travel time during the day on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 23-24. From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., crews will make bridge expansion joint repairs. Drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes, cancel discretionary travel, or plan plenty of additional time. The work will not affect I-5.
  • The westbound S. 56th Street on-ramp to southbound I-5 is closed for construction through October. Drivers on westbound S. 56th Street can access southbound I-5 by using the left turn lane at Tacoma Mall Boulevard interchange.
  • SB I-5 Traffic Shift in Fife: SB I-5 drivers exiting at Bay Street/SR 167 need to stay in the right lane at Port of Tacoma Road to reach exit 135; Port of Tacoma Road drivers headed to SB I-5 will follow a temporary collector/distributor lane across the old SB I-5 bridge to rejoin mainline; SB I-5 travelers going to Tacoma‚Äôs city center, SR 16 or Olympia will use three left lanes at Port of Tacoma Road to reach their destinations.
  • Southbound Marvin Road (SR 510) at I-5 in Lacey is reduced to one lane. Travelers are encouraged to expect delays. The changes will be in place through mid-November.
