Blocking Incidents
  • Update 11:36 AM : On the I-5 northbound on-ramp from SR 18 (MP 142) there is a collision partially blocking the ramp and blocking the right general purpose lane. The Incident Response Team, Tow Assistance, and the State Patrol have arrived on the scene.
  • On SR 18 eastbound just east of SR 164 (MP 4) there is a collision blocking the right lane and partially blocking the left lane. The State Patrol has arrived on the scene.
  • On I-5 northbound at Ravenna Blvd (MP 170) there is a collision blocking the right lane. Tow Assistance has arrived on the scene.
  • Hood Canal Bridge closed, marine opening in progress, expect delays on SR 104 both directions at Milepost 14.5 beginning at 12:11 pm on May 6, 2021 for about the next 60 minutes.
  • Beginning Oct. 5 through Sept. 13, 2021: Travelers in both directions of SR 6, near Twin Oaks Road can expect traffic switched to a 2-lane 25 mph detour bypassing the closure.  Work includes excavation for bridge piers, bridge construction and culvert removal/installation.
  • Road work on SR 162 both directions at milepost 14 near S Prairie Creek beginning at 7:03 am on May 6, 2021 until about 3:00 pm.
  • Road work on SR 112 both directions from milepost 45 near W Lyre River Rd to milepost 46 near Susie Creek beginning at 7:10 am on May 6, 2021 until about 4:00 pm.
  • Road work on SR 19, in both directions, from milepost 0.0 near SR 104, to milepost 9.5 near West Valley Rd. Beginning at 8:27 am on May 6, 2021 until about 5:00 pm.
  • Road work on SR 305 both directions at milepost 9.9 near Noll Rd NE beginning at 8:56 am on May 6, 2021 until about 4:00 pm.
  • Road work on US 101, in both directions, from milepost 299.0 near the Falls View Campground, to milepost 302.0 near Spencer Cr Rd. Beginning at 9:10 am on May 6, 2021 until about 2:00 pm.
  • Road work on US 101, in both directions, from milepost 77.0 near SR 107, to milepost 80.0 near the Cosmopolis South City Limits. Beginning at 9:26 am on May 6, 2021 until about 1:00 pm.
  • Road work on SR 167 both directions at milepost 0 near I-5 beginning at 9:55 am on May 6, 2021 until about 2:00 pm.
  • SR 112 near Jim Creek is closed until further notice due to six separate slides that occurred beginning in December of 2020. WSDOT is currently preparing a contract for competitive bids through extensive environmental reviews. Construction could begin in early May. During the closure, travelers will continue to detour via US 101 and SR 113. More details about reopening online .
  • From 8 a.m. Monday and Tuesday, May 10-11 until 2 p.m. each day, the US 101 Hoquiam River Simpson Avenue Bridge will close for a routine inspection. During the inspection, travelers will detour via the US 101 Riverside Bridge, where two-way travel will be in place.
Construction Closures
  • Crews are removing multiple barriers to fish under US 101 between Sequim and Port Angeles at Bagley and Siebert Creeks for improved fish passage which will require around-the-clock construction, shifted lanes and reduced speeds through fall of 2021. Any highway closures will be announced in advance.
  • This project project removes and replaces outdated culverts under SR 302 with fish passable structures, repaves 8 miles highway, and rebuilds sidewalks and ramps at the Key Center intersection of SR 302/SR 16. Work is currently on winter suspension and will resume in spring of 2021. All work will be done by fall of 2021.
  • The Thorne Lane on-ramp to southbound I-5 is closed for construction until May 23. Travelers will detour north on I-5 to exit 124 at Gravelly Lake Drive, then go south on I-5.
  • Crews are replacing three outdated culverts that run under US 101 at Steamboat Creek, Harlow Creek and Fisher Creek between Queets and Kalaloch. The culverts will be replaced with concrete girder bridges and are expected to open up nearly nine miles of potential fish habitat for salmon and resident fish. Work is expected to wrap up at all three sites fall of 2021. Travelers will encounter one-way alternating with a temporary signal around-the-clock.
  • Each weeknight from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning, construction crews will reduce the highway near Morse Creek to one lane with flaggers through early fall 2021. Crews aim to improve safety along the corridor through construction of a raised landscaped median, reduced speed limit and other proven traffic calming measures. No work is scheduled during daytime hours or on weekends.
  • From 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day beginning Monday, May 3 through Wednesday, May 5, flaggers will alternate travelers through the intersection of SR 104/Beaver Valley Road (SR 19) for pavement repairs. Expect delays.
  • Monday, May 3 to the morning of Friday, May 7 – The northbound I-5 off-ramp to SR 104 will close from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. nightly.
  • From 7 a.m. Monday, May 10 until 4 p.m., crews will replace damaged guardrail near Iverson Road. Travelers will encounter one-way alternating conditions with flaggers until all work is complete.
  • Beginning 7 a.m. Wednesday, May 12 until 4 p.m., flaggers will alternate travelers near the Sol Duc River for guardrail repairs. The work is just east of the SR 113 junction with US 101. Travelers are advised to expect brief delays during repairs.
  • Beginning at 7:30 a.m., Thursday, May 6, through 12 p.m., travelers will encounter daytime, intermittent closures in both direction of SR 6 near Twin Oaks Road, for bridge girder setting work.

    Note: During bridge girder setting work, travelers should plan for delays of up to 20 minutes.
  • Maintenance on SR 6 both directions at milepost 46.5 near Twin Oaks Road beginning at 7:17 am on May 6, 2021 until further notice. Traffic will be alternated through the work zone.
  • Maintenance on SR 7 both directions at milepost 8 beginning at 7:18 am on May 6, 2021 until further notice. Traffic is being flagged through the work zone. Use caution in the area.
  • On SR 522 eastbound at NE 135th St (MP 4) the right lane is closed due to roadwork.
  • On I-90 westbound at SR 900 (MP 15) the right lane is closed due to roadwork.
  • Monday, May 3 to the morning of Friday, May 7 – The SR 104 on-ramp to northbound I-5 will close from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. nightly.
  • Tuesday, May 4 to the morning of Friday, May 7 – The left lane of both directions of I-5 between SR 530 and Kackman Road will close from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly.
  • Tuesday, May 4 to the morning of Friday, May 7 – Up to three lanes of southbound I-5 between 44th Avenue W and 220th Street SW will close from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. nightly.
  • Tuesday, May 4 to the morning of Friday, May 7 – The 44th Avenue W on-ramp to southbound I-5 will close from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. nightly.
  • Tuesday, May 4 to the morning of Friday, May 7 – The southbound I-5 off-ramp to 220th Street SW will close from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. nightly.
  • Wednesday, May 5 to the morning of Monday, May 10 – The left lane on eastbound SR 18 will close near 200th Street SE from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Wednesday, May 5 to the morning of Monday, May 10 – The right lane on eastbound SR 18 will close between DOT Pit Site and Tiger Mountain Summit (23.6) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Special Events
  • Flammable cargo is prohibited on SR 520 eastbound & westbound from Montlake Blvd (MP 1) to 84th Ave NE (MP 5).
