Blocking Incidents
  • Collision on SR 7 northbound at milepost 57.04 to SR 7 Extension beginning at 3:23 am on November 26, 2020 until further notice. Traffic using shoulder to get by.
  • On I-5 northbound just north of Seneca St (MP 166) there is a disabled vehicle blocking the left lane. The State Patrol has arrived on the scene.
  • Beginning Oct. 5 through Sept. 13, 2021: Travelers in both directions of SR 6, near Twin Oaks Road can expect traffic switched to a 2-lane 25 mph detour bypassing the closure.  Work includes excavation for bridge piers, bridge construction and culvert removal/installation.
Construction Closures
  • Crews are removing multiple barriers to fish under US 101 between Sequim and Port Angeles at Bagley and Siebert Creeks for improved fish passage which will require around-the-clock construction, shifted lanes and reduced speeds through fall of 2021. Any highway closures will be announced in advance.
  • This project project removes and replaces outdated culverts under SR 302 with fish passable structures, repaves 8 miles highway, and rebuilds sidewalks and ramps at the Key Center intersection of SR 302/SR 16. Work is currently on winter suspension and will resume in spring of 2021. All work will be done by fall of 2021.
  • Crews working for the City of Poulsbo are building the Johnson Road SR 305 roundabout.
  • One-way alternating traffic in place following several feet of recent roadway settlement. WSDOT will continue to monitor the roadway for further settlement issues. Loads are restricted to no wider than 14 feet to provide clearance. A contract to repair the roadway following widespread damages throughout Washington due to natural disaster is currently underway. A timeline for permanent repairs has not been shared yet. This is the second, latest slide discovered along US 101 at Cosi Hill.
  • Crews are replacing three outdated culverts that run under US 101 at Steamboat Creek, Harlow Creek and Fisher Creek between Queets and Kalaloch. The culverts will be replaced with concrete girder bridges and are expected to open up nearly nine miles of potential fish habitat for salmon and resident fish. Work is expected to wrap up at all three sites fall of 2021. Travelers will encounter one-way alternating with a temporary signal around-the-clock.
  • Northbound & southbound traffic is alternating on SR 203 just north of NE 88th St (MP 9) due to maintenance.
  • Travelers will encounter a westbound, single lane closure as maintenance crews conduct a routine inspection below the US 12 Wynoochee River Bridge. Work activities will take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9 through Thursday, Dec. 10.
  • Travelers will encounter an eastbound single lane closure at the US 12 Satsop River Bridge to allow crews to conduct a routine bridge inspection. Work activities will occur between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7 through Tuesday, Dec. 8.
  • Monday, Nov. 23, to the morning of Thursday, Nov. 26 – Two lanes of westbound I-90 between the east end of the Mount Baker Tunnel and Rainier Avenue will close from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.
  • Monday, Nov. 23, to the morning of Thursday, Nov. 26 – Two lanes of eastbound SR 520 between 148th Avenue and Northeast 40th will close from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.
  • Crews are rebuilding the timber approaches on the west-half of the SR 107 Chehalis River Bridge south of Montesano as well as raising the bridge portals and painting the entire steel structure to protect against corrosion. Drivers will encounter one-way alternating traffic with a temporary signal around-the-clock through late spring of 2021. Any total roadway closures will be announced in advance.
  • Between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1 through Thursday, Dec. 3, travelers will encounter one-way alternating traffic with flaggers for guardrail repairs near the southern end of Sequim Bay.

  • Flammable cargo is prohibited on I-90 eastbound & westbound from Rainier Ave S (MP 3) to Island Crest Way (MP 7).
  • Thursday, Nov. 26 - The I-5 express lanes will be open southbound from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and open southbound from 1:45 to 11 p.m.
