Seasonal drawspan restrictions
Now through Sept. 30 each year, private vessels (pleasure craft) are prohibited from requiring a drawspan opening from 3 to 6:15 p.m. daily which is during the peak afternoon commute. The rule doesn’t apply to commercial, U.S Navy or other Department of Defense vessels.

By law, WSDOT is required to open the Hood Canal Bridge drawspan to mariners within one hour’s notice, and motorists are advised to expect up to 60-minute delays with each opening. If no drawspan openings are listed immediately below, no non-military drawspan openings are scheduled.

The bridge drawspan will open at approximately 8:45 AM on Thursday July 18 for boat traffic. Drivers can expect delays of up to 60 minutes.
