Blocking Incidents
  • The Freya Street on-ramp to eastbound I-90 will close beginning at 7:00 pm on June 28, 2021 until about 5:00 pm on September 19, 2021. The closure is part of the paving project between Hamilton Street interchange to the Sprague interchange on I-90.
  • Right Lane Closure on US 195 SB at MP 81.5 near Cornwall Road for Bridge work near Spangle, expect slight delays, Maximum bridge weight 105,500 legal loads only, no over legal axle weights.beginning at 6:53 am on May 29, 2020 until further notice.
  • SR 290 closed for bridge replacement starting near MP 0.5 at the Spokane River, City of Spokane, EB 290 is closed at Hamilton Street, WB 290 is closed at Iron Court, commercial vehicles are diverted to Freya Street, all other traffic can use Mission Street, beginning at 6:18 am on June 3, 2020 until further notice. Follow signed detour route and expect delays.
  • Lane Closures for construction on SR 290 in both directions at milepost 12.5 at Barker Rd, Spokane Valley, the Eastbound Exit to Wellesley Ave will also be closed, beginning at 10:49 am on March 17, 2021, until August 2022. Use other routes and expect long delays at times.
  • Closure on Spokane Falls from Pine St to Sherman St in both directions until further notice. Spokane Transit Authority will have ongoing construction for the new City Line through mid-July.
  • The City of Spokane will close on Nevada from Wellesley Ave. to Francis Ave. in both directions on Thursday, July 22, and Saturday, July 24, for street preservation.
  • The City of Spokane will close Nevada from North Foothills Drive to Wellesley Ave. in both directions on Friday, July 23 and Wednesday, July 28, for street preservation.
  • Collision on I-90 westbound at milepost 272 near Four Lakes. Crews are recovering a tractor trailer from an earlier collision. Right lane is partially blocked. Beginning at 5:56 am on July 29, 2021 until further notice.
  • Collision on US 195 northbound at milepost 57.5 near Thornton Bypass Rd. Traffic is reduced to one lane, alternating in both directions. Expect delays. Beginning at 12:08 pm on July 29, 2021 until further notice.
  • The Rosamond bridge over I-90 is closed in both directions until further notice. Drivers in the area will need to detour via the Lindeke Street bridge to cross over I-90.
  • City Construction: Post Street Bridge and intersection of Lincoln Street and Summit Boulevard is closed. The bridge will open in 2022.
Construction Closures
  • Various lane and ramp closures on I-90 both directions from milepost 295.7 near Harvard Rd Off-Ramp to milepost 296.6 near Harvard Rd Off Ramp until further notice. Crews will be widening the Harvard Road overpass. Expect nightly closures of various ramps at the interchange and to I-90.
  • Construction at the Grove/Geiger interchange with I-90 in both directions at milepost 276.3 until further notice.

    All roundabouts at the on/off-ramps for both east and westbound I-90 have reopened to traffic. The westbound loop on-ramp has permanently closed.
  • Construction on I-90 both directions from milepost 231.2 near Tokio Rd to milepost 239.1 near the Lincoln County line beginning at 7:00 am on July 12, 2021 until further notice.

    Crews will be moving to night work from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., starting Tuesday, July 20.
  • The City of Spokane: Starting Wednesday, Nov. 20, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will begin constructing the North Spokane Corridor (NSC) Wellesley Avenue interchange. During this time, Wellesley Avenue between Market Street and Freya Street will be closed to pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular traffic. The closure and interchange work will last until the end of 2022. Please use alternate routes.
  • North Spokane Corridor construction will cause Euclid Ave. to be reduced one lane in each direction from Market St to Freya St in both directions beginning at 7:00 pm on April 22, 2021 until further notice.
  • Spokane Transit Authority (STA) is constructing a new sheltered bus stop on SR 904 in both directions at milepost 16.6 near First St in Four Lakes until about 12:00 am on July 31, 2021. STA will be constructing a new sheltered bus stop, sidewalks, lighting, and a crosswalk to improve passenger safety.
  • Construction on I-90 both directions from milepost 282.4 near Liberty Park Pl to milepost 285.6 near Sprague Ave beginning at 7:00 am on June 28, 2021 until further notice. The project includes night work Sunday through Thursday with possible on and off-ramp closures during working hours within project limits.
  • The City of Spokane Valley will have construction on Argonne Rd at Montgomery Ave. in both directions beginning until about 12:00 am on September 21, 2021.
  • Construction on the Post Street bridge will keep the bridge closed in both directions until further notice. The bridge is set to reopen in 2022.
  • Construction on Sprague Ave. from Grant St to Division St has the roadway closed in both directions until further notice.

    Business access is available via First Avenue and the alley north of Sprague. Arterial traffic is detoured via Second and Third Avenues.
  • City of Spokane Valley construction on Evergreen Rd from Broadway Ave to Sprague Ave in both directions until August 1, 2021. Evergreen will be reduced to one lane in each direction during pavement preservation.
  • Construction will be ongoing next to North Greene Street from Mission Ave. to Ermina Ave. in both directions until further notice. Work is part of the North Spokane Corridor work that is being constructed in the Spokane Community College parking lot.
  • Spokane County will have Whitworth Dr. closed for road work between Regina Av and Elcliff Dr. Starting on July 20, 2021 to August 3, 2021. Use other routes, expect delays.
  • Spokane County will have lane closures for road work on Strong Rd at the Spokane City Limits, starting on July 23, to August 31, 2021. Expect delays.
  • Spokane County will have Adams Rd closed for road work between 32nd Av and Spokane Vallley City Limits. Starting on July 25 to July 29, 2021, Expect delays.
  • The City of Spokane Valley will be constructing a sidewalk on Park Rd from Broadway Ave to Mission Ave on the west side of the road beginning at 7:00 am on June 22, 2021 until about 7:00 pm on August 9, 2021.
