Blocking Incidents
  • SR 290 closed for bridge replacement starting near MP 0.5 at the Spokane River, City of Spokane, EB 290 is closed at Hamilton Street, WB 290 is closed at Iron Court, commercial vehicles are diverted to Freya Street, all other traffic can use Mission Street, beginning at 6:18 am on June 3, 2020 until further notice. Follow signed detour route and expect delays.
  • Lane Closures for construction on SR 290 in both directions at milepost 12.5 at Barker Rd, Spokane Valley, Beginning at 10:49 am on March 17, 2021, until August 2022. Use other routes and expect long delays at times.
  • Rest Area is closed on US 2 eastbound at milepost 237.71 near Telford Rd beginning at 3:59 pm on September 3, 2021, until further notice.
  • The City of Spokane will close Belt Street from Boone Ave. to Maxwell Ave. in both directions, part of an arterial grind and inlay project.
  • On-ramp closure removed on I-90 eastbound at Freya, in Spokane. The Thor Freya on-ramp from 3rd Ave. is re-opened, at milepost 283.5 beginning at 2:40 pm on October 7, 2021. EB motorists should watch for merging traffic.
  • The Rosamond bridge over I-90 is closed in both directions until further notice. Drivers in the area will need to detour via the Lindeke Street bridge to cross over I-90.
  • City Construction: Post Street Bridge and intersection of Lincoln Street and Summit Boulevard is closed. The bridge will open in 2022.
  • The loop on-ramp from Grove Road to eastbound I-90 will close beginning at 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 4. Crews will be grinding and extending the ramp for its new alignment with I-90. The directional on-ramp to eastbound I-90 will remain open.
Construction Closures
  • Construction at the intersection of Geiger Blvd. and Grove Road beginning on August 2, until further notice. Construction includes the third roundabout of the I-90 Geiger interchange improvements project just north of I-90. Drivers will need to follow signed detours.
  • The City of Spokane: Starting Wednesday, Nov. 20, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will begin constructing the North Spokane Corridor (NSC) Wellesley Avenue interchange. During this time, Wellesley Avenue between Market Street and Freya Street will be closed to pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular traffic. The closure and interchange work will last until the end of 2022. Please use alternate routes.
  • North Spokane Corridor construction will cause Euclid Ave. to be reduced one lane in each direction from Market St to Freya St in both directions beginning at 7:00 pm on April 22, 2021 until further notice.
  • Spokane County will have lane closures for road work, on Wellesley Ave between Railroad Ave and Murray Road, starting on September 17th through November 30, 2021. Watch for flaggers. road closures, lane restrictions. and detour route, Expect delays, use other routes.
  • Construction for the Spokane Transit City Line will occur on North Wall Street between West Riverside Avenue and West Main Avenue. North Wall Street is currently closed.
  • Spokane County will have Columbia Drive closed for road work between Northwood Dr and Argonne Rd. Starting on September 20,to October 25, 2021. Use other routes.
  • Construction on I-90 both directions from milepost 295.4 to milepost 295.5. This project constructs the new local connections and Kramer Road Parkway Undercrossing bridge over I-90. Drivers can expect various impacts to I-90 during construction.
  • Spokane County will have lane closures for road work on Bigelow Gulch Road between Weile Ave and Argonne Road. Expect delays. South and North Jensen Road is open.
  • Spokane County has the road closed for bridge replacement on Frideger Rd at the Little Spokane River. Use other routes, expect delays.
  • Construction on the Post Street bridge will keep the bridge closed in both directions until further notice. The bridge is set to reopen in 2022.
  • Construction on Sprague Ave. from Grant St to Division St has the roadway closed in both directions until further notice.

    Business access is available via First Avenue and the alley north of Sprague. Arterial traffic is detoured via Second and Third Avenues.
  • Construction will be ongoing next to North Greene Street from Mission Ave. to Ermina Ave. in both directions until further notice. Work is part of the North Spokane Corridor work that is being constructed in the Spokane Community College parking lot.
  • Spokane County will have Appleway Ave closed at Spokane Bridge Road for road work, on September 13, 2021. There will be a full road closure on September 16th to October 15, 2021. Use other routes.
  • Spokane County will have lane closures for roadwork on Short Road between the Stevens County Line to Deer Park City Limits, starting on September 27th to October 7, 2021. Expect delays.
  • On I-90 eastbound at Exit 174 offramp, expect lane shifts and local traffic revisions. Prichard Road will be open to eastbound traffic only with Idaho Rd. and Laguna Dr. open for motorists traveling south from there.
  • Spokane Transit Authority City Line construction will impact Mission Avenue from Morton Street to Hamilton Street in both directions until further notice. Expect single-lane traffic in both directions at times.
  • The City of Spokane has construction on Wellesley Avenue between Walnut and Maple Street in both directions to lengthen the westbound turn lane. Expect reduced lanes in each direction as crews work at the corner of Wellesley Avenue and Maple Street.
  • Spokane County will have lane closures for road work on Monroe Road between Antler Rd and woolard Road. Starting on October 18, to October 21, 2021.
    Expect flaggers, expect delays.
