Blocking Incidents
  • SR 290 closed for bridge replacement starting near MP 0.5 at the Spokane River, City of Spokane, EB 290 is closed at Hamilton Street, WB 290 is closed at Iron Court, commercial vehicles are diverted to Freya Street, all other traffic can use Mission Street, beginning at 6:18 am on June 3, 2020 until further notice. Follow signed detour route and expect delays.
  • Lane Closures for construction on SR 290 in both directions at milepost 12.5 at Barker Rd, Spokane Valley, the Eastbound Exit to Wellesley Ave will also be closed, beginning at 10:49 am on March 17, 2021, until August 2022. Use other routes and expect long delays at times.
  • Alternating Lane Closure with a pilot car on US 395, both directions at MP 187 to MP 189 near Larson Beach Road. North of Deer Park for crack sealing. Expect some delay. Beginning at 7:43 am on May 12, 2021 until further notice.
  • Closure of I-90 eastbound for bridge work, milepost 272, Medical Lake, beginning at 9:21 pm on May 12, 2021 until 3 am on May 13, 2021. Detour at exit 272 then back on, expect delays.
  • Closure of I-90 eastbound for bridge work, milepost 296, Liberty Lake, beginning at 23:21 pm on May 12, 2021 until 5 am on May 13, 2021. Detour at exit 296 then back on, expect delays.
Construction Closures
  • Construction on I-90 both directions at milepost 272.8 near SR 902 beginning at 8:34 am on March 24, 2021 until further notice. Various overnight closures are possible to I-90 as crews continue to work on the new overpass.
  • Construction on I-90 both directions from milepost 295.7 near Harvard Rd Off Ramp to milepost 296.6 near Harvard Rd Off Ramp until further notice. Crews will be widening the Harvard Road overpass. Drivers can expect overnight closures of I-90.
  • Construction at the Grove/Geiger interchange with I-90 in both directions at milepost 276.3 until further notice.

    On Friday, May 7, at 5:30 a.m., the Grove Rd. bridge over I-90 will close to traffic for several weeks. The westbound I-90 on-ramp from Grove Rd. will also close to traffic as Phase 2 of construction begins on the roundabout at Grove Rd. and the westbound I-90 on and off-ramps. Drivers will need to follow detours. Plan ahead through the area.
  • The City of Spokane: Starting Wednesday, Nov. 20, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will begin constructing the North Spokane Corridor (NSC) Wellesley Avenue interchange. During this time, Wellesley Avenue between Market Street and Freya Street will be closed to pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular traffic. The closure and interchange work will last until the end of 2022. Please use alternate routes.
  • North Spokane Corridor construction will cause Euclid Ave. to be reduced one lane in each direction from Market St to Freya St in both directions beginning at 7:00 pm on April 22, 2021 until further notice.
  • Spokane Transit Authority (STA) is constructing a new sheltered bus stop on SR 904 in both directions at milepost 16.6 near First St in Four Lakes until about 12:00 am on July 31, 2021. STA will be constructing a new sheltered bus stop, sidewalks, lighting, and a crosswalk to improve passenger safety.
  • On SR 17 between milepost 88 and 137 (Sun Lakes to Bridgeport), Thursday and Friday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., expect flagger controlled traffic with delays where the contractor is installing new signs.
  • On SR 173 between milepost 5 and 6 (out of Brewster), Thursday and Friday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., expect flagger controlled traffic with delays where the contractor is installing new signs.
  • Spokane County will have lane restrictions on Geiger Blvd between Thomas Mallen Road and Electric Ave (Spokane City Limits) for road work starting on August 17th to about June 30, 2021. Thomas Mallen Road is open. Electric Ave. is open. Geiger Road is Closed at Grove Road. Local businesses are open, please use extreme caution when travelling inside the work zone. Use other routes and expect delays.
  • Spokane County will have Weile Ave closed between Bigelow Gulch Road and Thierman Road, for road work, Starting on May 10, until July 11, 2021.
    Use other routes, expect delays.
  • Om SR 20 between milepost 262 and 297 (Tonasket to Ferry Co. Line), Wednesday and Thursday from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., expect flagger controlled traffic with pilot car and delays up to 10 minutes where the crew is working.
  • On SR 172 between milepost 17 and 23 (Mansfield), Thursday and Friday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., expect flagger controlled traffic with delays where the contractor is installing new signs.
