Blocking Incidents
  • The Freya Street on-ramp to eastbound I-90 will close beginning at 7:00 pm on June 28, 2021 until about 5:00 pm on September 19, 2021. The closure is part of the paving project between Hamilton Street interchange to the Sprague interchange on I-90.
  • SR 290 closed for bridge replacement starting near MP 0.5 at the Spokane River, City of Spokane, EB 290 is closed at Hamilton Street, WB 290 is closed at Iron Court, commercial vehicles are diverted to Freya Street, all other traffic can use Mission Street, beginning at 6:18 am on June 3, 2020 until further notice. Follow signed detour route and expect delays.
  • Closure on Spokane Falls from Pine St to Sherman St in both directions until further notice. Spokane Transit Authority will have ongoing construction for the new City Line.
  • The City of Spokane will close Howard Street between Mallon and Boone Avenue in both directions beginning on Tuesday, August 17, for two and half weeks. Work is part of a grind and inlay of the roadway.
  • The City of Spokane will close Belt Street from Boone Ave. to Maxwell Ave. in both directions, part of an arterial grind and inlay project.
  • Lane closures for road work on Hayford Road North of US 2 both directions at milepost 279. at the Hayford Rd intersection, Airway Hts. beginning at 7:03 am on September 20, 2021 until further notice. Use other routes, expect delays.
  • The Rosamond bridge over I-90 is closed in both directions until further notice. Drivers in the area will need to detour via the Lindeke Street bridge to cross over I-90.
  • City Construction: Post Street Bridge and intersection of Lincoln Street and Summit Boulevard is closed. The bridge will open in 2022.
  • The loop on-ramp from Grove Road to eastbound I-90 will close beginning at 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 4. Crews will be grinding and extending the ramp for its new alignment with I-90. The directional on-ramp to eastbound I-90 will remain open.
Construction Closures
  • Construction at the intersection of Geiger Blvd. and Grove Road beginning on August 2, until further notice. Construction includes the third roundabout of the I-90 Geiger interchange improvements project just north of I-90. Drivers will need to follow signed detours.
  • The City of Spokane: Starting Wednesday, Nov. 20, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will begin constructing the North Spokane Corridor (NSC) Wellesley Avenue interchange. During this time, Wellesley Avenue between Market Street and Freya Street will be closed to pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular traffic. The closure and interchange work will last until the end of 2022. Please use alternate routes.
  • North Spokane Corridor construction will cause Euclid Ave. to be reduced one lane in each direction from Market St to Freya St in both directions beginning at 7:00 pm on April 22, 2021 until further notice.
  • Construction for the Spokane Transit City Line will occur on North Wall Street between West Riverside Avenue and West Main Avenue. North Wall Street is currently closed.
  • Spokane County will have lane closures for road work on Bigelow Gulch Road between Weile Ave and Argonne Road. Expect delays. South and North Jensen Road is open.
  • Construction on the Post Street bridge will keep the bridge closed in both directions until further notice. The bridge is set to reopen in 2022.
  • Construction on Sprague Ave. from Grant St to Division St has the roadway closed in both directions until further notice.

    Business access is available via First Avenue and the alley north of Sprague. Arterial traffic is detoured via Second and Third Avenues.
  • Construction will be ongoing next to North Greene Street from Mission Ave. to Ermina Ave. in both directions until further notice. Work is part of the North Spokane Corridor work that is being constructed in the Spokane Community College parking lot.
