Colman Dock, the Seattle ferry terminal, is located on the Seattle Waterfront at Pier 52. This is where you access Washington State Ferries to Bainbridge Island and Bremerton. The Colman Dock Project completed major new elements in summer 2023, including the entry building along Alaskan Way and the elevated pedestrian connector for ticketing and terminal building access. Additional and final improvements will be completed in 2024—including removal of the temporary walkway. Please be alert to final construction activities while entering and exiting Colman Dock.

Directions and Transportation Connections

  • From Port Angeles / Olympic Peninsula Points: Drive EAST on U.S. 101 to State Route (SR) 104, crossing the Hood Canal Floating Bridge. Continue EAST on SR 104 for 8 more miles (through Port Gamble) to the Kingston Ferry Terminal.

    From Bremerton: Drive north on WA-3 N and take the WA-305 exit toward Poulsbo/Bainbridge Island. Turn right onto WA-305 S and take the 2nd left onto WA-307 N/Bond Rd NE. Continue on WA-307 N for 6 miles and continue straight onto NE State Highway 104 to the Kingston Ferry Terminal.

    Dropping off or picking up?
    When approaching the ferry terminal to pick up or drop off and NOT disabled, please enter the right hand lane (local line) and make a right turn at Washington St. right in front of the toll booths. There should be parking there for a quick pick up – drop off.

    If you are disabled and picking up or dropping off, cut into the line down by the toll booths and let the ticket seller know that you will be dropping off or picking up.

Tourist Information

Park and Ride lots are available at the Albertsons with Kitsap Transit making bus connections. In addition to the park-n-ride lot at the Albertson's store on Hansville Road, there is pay parking in Kingston. Kingston commuter parking lot is operated by Diamond Parking available at 1st and Ohio St. Turn left on Ohio Street, they will see it. There are a total of 73 spaces. Parking fees for Diamond Parking in Kingston are:

  • $8.00 for 0 - 12 hours
  • $12.00 for 12 - 24 hours

    WSF has an off-site parking lot for public use, operated by Diamond Parking. There is no charge for disabled parking customers displaying a valid disabled parking placard or license plate in this parking lot only. There are three ADA spaces available. It’s important to note that when all the sign posted ADA spaces are filled in this WSF lot, customers are allowed to park in any empty space in this lot, for free, with their ADA placard, except those spaces reserved for other uses (e.g., carpool and Ferry System employee vehicles).

  • Motorcycles
    While motorcycles are not, by Washington Administrative Code (WAC 468-300-700), a preferential loading category of users, they are often loaded prior to automobiles for operational and staging purposes. Arrival at the dock after vehicle load has commenced requires motorcycles to wait until all cars have been loaded for the next motorcycle loading opportunity. Motorcycles should proceed, while on the dock, at no more than 10 mph. Use caution when car decks are wet. The following information details specific staging for this terminal:

    Motorcycle Fare Purchase/Redemption
    Purchase tickets at the auto tollbooths, at the kiosk outside next to the restrooms, or online in advance.

    Motorcycle Entry/Staging
    During commute hours, motorcyclists may use the pre-ticketed tollbooth.
    Proceed to staging at front of vehicle holding lanes.

    Motorcycle Loading
    Loading order: bicycles, motorcycles, vehicles, late arriving motorcycles as space permits.

    WSF requires trucks with a gross vehicle weight of over 80,000 lbs and/or over 8’6” wide to have “travel approval” before crossing any of our routes. Vessels on this route have a limited height clearance and trucks may be loaded out of sequence.

    Trucks that have a gross vehicle weight of over 80,000 lbs but are hauling less than 80,000 lbs will need to provide a weight slip.

    There is no payment for passengers or bicycles traveling from Kingston to Edmonds. Bicyclists may bypass the line of vehicle traffic to get into the ferry holding lane. Bicyclists should arrive 20 minutes prior to departure time to be loaded at the beginning of loading process. If a bicyclist arrives after vehicle loading has begun, they will be loaded at the end of the load. Riders should walk their bikes on and off the ferry to avoid injuring passengers. The terminal has one bicycle rack which holds eight bikes.

    Carpool/Vanpools must be ticketed and in line 10 minutes before scheduled sailing time to receive preferential loading.     Fare Discounts

    We offer seniors (65+), persons with disabilities and passengers with a Medicare card, or other eligibility verification, travel at half the regular passenger fare rate. We offer special rates for youth ages 6 to 18. Children ages 5 and under travel free.

    Multi-ride cards are good for 90 days from the date of purchase and are non-refundable.

    Tally System

    The "tally" or boarding pass system means that vehicles in line receive a slip of paper from the WSP to show that they have not cut in line. If you arrive at the ticket booth without a boarding pass, you have to go to the end of the line. Boarding passes are used on Sunday afternoons and are distributed by WSP at Lindvog Rd. in Kingston. This program was started at the request of the community leaders in order to help reduce the traffic congestion in the downtown corridor.

    Distribution of boarding passes begin at various times on Sunday and is based on traffic volume. Prior to distribution, signs are placed in various locations along the highway with a trooper stationed at the Lindvog - SR104 intersection. Vehicles arriving at a tollbooth without a tally slip will be sent back to Lindvog and the end of the line.

    Lost and found items on this route are turned in to the Edmonds ferry terminal. Due to storage limitations, found items are held for 10 days from the date they were found.
