What to expect

Work began May 13 at the intersection of State Route 104 and SR 19. Work at Shine Road/Paradise Bay Road is scheduled to begin in August.

Beginning May 20, the intersection of SR 104 and SR 19 will become right in, right out only. Travelers looking to make left turns at this intersection will have to detour to Center Road. A temporary traffic signal will operate at Center Road during this portion of the project.

In June, all access to State Route 19 from SR 104 will close for 21 days. During this time, all traffic will have to take the same detour at Center Road. See the Maps & Drawings tab for a graphic.

This project will also have short-term closures of access to Shine Road and Paradise Bay Road. All highway closures will be announced in advance.

During construction, travelers can expect to see intermittent single-lane closures at night. These closures are permitted only between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Crews will maintain one-lane in both directions as much as possible.

Beginning in May 2024, contractor crews will start construction of two roundabouts on State Route 104.
